Il progetto European Ars Nova e i testi poetici in volgare. Caratteristiche della tradizione e soluzioni editoriali

The European Ars Nova project aims to produce a critical edition of just over 1000 Italian, French, and Latin texts set to music, dating between the 14th and 15th centuries. In the first part, the article analyzes the characteristics of the tradition of this repertoire, marked by witnesses with and without musical settings and by a distinctive relationship between the authorship of the composer and that of the author of the text. In the second part, the general editorial criteria adopted in the project are illustrated.

Il progetto European Ars Nova ha tra i suoi obiettivi l’edizione critica di poco piú di 1000 testi italiani e francesi e latini provvisti di intonazione e databili tra il XIV e il XV secolo. Nella prima parte, l’articolo analizza le caratteristiche della tradizione volgare di questo repertorio, caratterizzato da testimoni con e senza intonazione e da un particolare rapporto tra l’autorialità del compositore e dell’autore del testo intonato. Nella seconda parte si illustrano i criteri di edizione generali adottati nel progetto.
