Since the French Revolution, intellectuals of the Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries have questioned the crisis of the society in which they live. Ancient Greece, as well as the Greece of their time, which struggles to achieve freedom, serves as a touchstone for them to reject bourgeois ideology and to seek an identity in a world that offers them no clear role.
