While the implications of entrepreneurial learning (EL) on venture creation of university students have been extensively studied, we do not know much about the implications of EL on wage-paid jobs. To address this gap, we explore to what extent and under which circumstances EL affects working students' extra-role behavior (ERB), a manifestation of employee's proactive contribution to their organization beyond strict job requirements. Our analyses on a large international dataset of 5,554 working students show that EL positively affects ERB and that the relationship is moderated by an individual factor (i.e., gender) and an organizational factor (i.e., firm size).

Abstract
While the implications of entrepreneurial learning (EL) on venture creation of university students have been extensively studied, we do not know much about the implications of EL on wage-paid jobs. To address this gap, we explore to what extent and under which circumstances EL affects working students' extra-role behavior (ERB), a manifestation of employee's proactive contribution to their organization beyond strict job requirements. Our analyses on a large international dataset of 5,554 working students show that EL positively affects ERB and that the relationship is moderated by an individual factor (i.e., gender) and an organizational factor (i.e., firm size).File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
