Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi and Jean-Jacques Rousseau are two of the most important Swiss pedagogues of the 18th and early 19th centuries. There are many aspects that unite the two authors; for example, both live the cultural atmosphere of the Lumières, the great political and social transformations of the second half of the 18th century and approach educational issues with interest and passion. But is it possible to affirm that there is a common philosophy of education? The intervention reflects on this theme.

Abstract
Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi and Jean-Jacques Rousseau are two of the most important Swiss pedagogues of the 18th and early 19th centuries. There are many aspects that unite the two authors; for example, both live the cultural atmosphere of the Lumières, the great political and social transformations of the second half of the 18th century and approach educational issues with interest and passion. But is it possible to affirm that there is a common philosophy of education? The intervention reflects on this theme.| File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
