The paper deals with the relation between teacher and student, analyzed by Giovanni Calò in his handbooks of Pedagogy for initial teacher education. In particular, it focuses on some elements of contiguity between L’educazione degli educatori (1914) and Corso di pedagogia (1946-1948), even though they were written in two different historical periods. This contiguity is strictly connected to a realistic perspective on education, far from Gentile’s theories in the early Twentieth Century and close to Catholic Pedagogy after World War II. Calò developed his educational thought from three concepts: the dualism between teacher and student; the heteronomy in educational processes; the refusal of self-education.

Abstract
The paper deals with the relation between teacher and student, analyzed by Giovanni Calò in his handbooks of Pedagogy for initial teacher education. In particular, it focuses on some elements of contiguity between L’educazione degli educatori (1914) and Corso di pedagogia (1946-1948), even though they were written in two different historical periods. This contiguity is strictly connected to a realistic perspective on education, far from Gentile’s theories in the early Twentieth Century and close to Catholic Pedagogy after World War II. Calò developed his educational thought from three concepts: the dualism between teacher and student; the heteronomy in educational processes; the refusal of self-education.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
