The chapter addresses the entanglements of religion and progressive politics arguing that it can be approached from various perspectives. Religion can be either a source of inspiration for militants calling for political change or it can be the reason why activists defend the status quo. Also, religious institutions and movements can be found actively engaging with both conservative and progressive politics. This chapter examines the case of religious feminism, which is trying to change religious organizations from within, to make space for women and to support gender rights in the broader society. By focusing on how religious feminists describe their activism in the context of a religious-feminist podcast hosting voices from different faiths, the chapter will also explore the alliances and tensions with secular feminist movements, pointing out the complex role of religion in the field of progressive politics.
