This chapter explores the topic of energy efficiency in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), aiming to assess their energy consumption and identify strategies to improve energy savings. The estimation of current and potential energy conservation is made through a survey of Italian HEIs and case studies. This study aims to contribute to existing literature by proposing a systemic and remote management approach. It emphasizes the importance of the collective adoption of positive behaviors and best practices in the medium term, as well as the development of innovative solutions and incentive systems for long-term energy savings.
