All’emergere delle teorie della relatività, speciale il 1905 e generale il 1915, che sembravano non solo pluralizzare ma anche relativizzare del tutto l’idea del tempo fisico, si ebbe una reazione nella cultura umanistica, che tese a una forte connotazione soggettivistica e umanistica del tempo. Si analizza l’opera poetica di Thomas S. Eliot in relazione al concetto di tempo e alla teoria della relatività.
