The article argues on the drafting of the new “National Indications” of the subject, framing its cultural premises and outlining the recent history of scientific studies up to the work of the sub commission. The discussion on the reasons for the denomination, motivated on the etymological and cultural level, constitute the premise for the presentation of the innovative aspects connecting scientific studies (embodiment, executive functions, physical literacy, sustainability, motivation, self-efficacy and enjoyment) with the didactic aspects, among which the exhortation to promote outdoor education experiences and insert active breaks and recesses. The background is the acquisition of active and healthy lifestyles to promote well-being in students, interdisciplinarity, and the complexity of the body-environment relationship. Five longitudinal dimensions encompass the specific learning objectives: active and healthy lifestyles, physical, cognitive, social and emotional-relational.

Abstract
Five longitudinal dimensions encompass the specific learning objectives: active and healthy lifestyles, physical, cognitive, social and emotional-relational.| File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
