The aim of this article is to examine the theme of labor in the pedagogical thought of Aldo Agazzi, in order to underline some fundamental theoretical issues that could still be topical and innovative. Agazzi's peculiar conception of manual labor represents an element of continuity, that permits to link two cultural horizons, commonly considered as distinct, particularly in the Italian tradition of the 20th century: labor and school.
