Due eroidi in forma di serventese tra le rime del Saviozzo

The essay focuses on two poems by Simone Serdini : O specchio di Narciso, o Ganimede and O magnanime donne, in cui biltate. The poems are investigated with special reference to their content and their metrical structure, by comparing them to the long-Term tradition of Medieval elegy as well as of Medieval epistle in verse. The aim of the essay is to sugest that in choosing to write those poems as "serventesi" Serdini consciously engages with the traditional use of such a metre as a vehicle for both letters in verses and for didactic literature. As such, the essay contributes to better deine the relationship between Serdini's poems and its most important models : Ovidio's Heroides and Boccaccio's Elegia di Madonna Fiammetta.
