The article explores the theme of autobiographical writing in J.J. Rousseau’s works. In particular, it focuses on some theoretical questions and the idea of subject that emerge from Rousseau's autobiographical practice, thanks to the thesis illustrated by J. Derrida in Of grammatology. The interpretations produced by J. Derrida and J. Starobinski reflect on the experience of «self-written auto-bio-graphy» as a theoretical model, useful to understand the relationships between presence and absence, natural and artificial, living and writing, that are central dynamics in Rousseau's philosophical proposal.

Abstract
The article explores the theme of autobiographical writing in J.J. Rousseau’s works. In particular, it focuses on some theoretical questions and the idea of subject that emerge from Rousseau's autobiographical practice, thanks to the thesis illustrated by J. Derrida in Of grammatology. The interpretations produced by J. Derrida and J. Starobinski reflect on the experience of «self-written auto-bio-graphy» as a theoretical model, useful to understand the relationships between presence and absence, natural and artificial, living and writing, that are central dynamics in Rousseau's philosophical proposal.File allegato/i alla scheda:
