La questione della natura. Un percorso a partire da alcuni libri recenti

In what follows, we will proceed to a survey of the arguments made in three books, which to some extent complement each other, and whose merits and limitations balance each other, on the themes of the environmental crisis: by Ardeni and Gallegati (La trappola dell’efficienza), by Saitō Kōhei (Il Capitale nell’Antropocene) and Carl Cassegård (Toward a Critical Theory of Nature: Capital, Ecology, and Dialectics). Our aim is not so much a critique but rather opening a dialogue. And this at a time when the urgency for an intervention that tackles what Claudio Napoleoni, rather than the «environmental crisis», preferred to call «the question of nature» – nature as an essential «other» that is recognised and respected without romantically renouncing its transformation – is becoming more dramatic by the day. There is certainly much to learn from these texts. However, there is also much to put in question

In quel che segue procederemo ad una rassegna ragionata delle argomentazioni svolte in tre libri, che in qualche misura si integrano e i cui meriti e limiti si bilanciano, sui temi della crisi ambientale: di Ardeni e Gallegati (La trappola dell’efficienza), di Saitō Kōhei (Il capitale nell’Antropocene) e di Carl Cassegård (Toward a Critical Theory of Nature: Capital, Ecology, and Dialectics). Il nostro scopo non è tanto una mera critica quanto aprire un dialogo. E questo proprio quando l’impellenza di un intervento che prenda di petto quella che Claudio Napoleoni, più che crisi ambientale, preferiva chiamare «la questione della natura» – una natura intesa come alterità essenziale che si riconosce e rispetta, senza con ciò rinunciare romanticamente alla sua trasformazione – e che si fa ogni giorno più drammatica. Da questi testi c’è senz’altro molto da imparare. C’è però anche molto da interrogare.
