In the Brembana Valley (Bergamo, Italy), in a small hamlet, in 1925 an anonymous artist, on a commission of the parish priest, built a votive shrine dedicated to Saint Anthony the Abbot. It represents an example of popular art rich in symbols, and expresses its intense relationship with the local community and at the same time the immensity of universal archetypes, becoming a complex narrative and aesthetic system.

Abstract
In the Brembana Valley (Bergamo, Italy), in a small hamlet, in 1925 an anonymous artist, on a commission of the parish priest, built a votive shrine dedicated to Saint Anthony the Abbot. It represents an example of popular art rich in symbols, and expresses its intense relationship with the local community and at the same time the immensity of universal archetypes, becoming a complex narrative and aesthetic system.| File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
