In this study, we focus on reflecting on the role assumed by religious practices in the migratory context, interpreting them as a driving force of linguistic transmission and innovation across different generations of Italian migrants. A qualitative observation of social media texts connected to first and subsequent generations of Italian emigrants allows us to observe the use of Italian vocabulary and phraseology, including within expressions related to the religious sphere.
