La tradizione filosofica italiana e i suoi paradigmi interpretativi

Can the 'Italian Theory' actually work as an interpretative instrument of a hypothetical Italian philosophical tradition? This is the assumption of a recent study, that places on the same level the thought of B. Spaventa, G. Gentile, E. Garin and R.Esposito, moving from this latter’s “living thought” in order to build a “genealogy” of the Italian thought, from the 19th century to our time. In this article we discuss the sources and and the methodological foundations of this operation, raising doubts on their scholarly legitimacy.

Può davvero la cosiddetta 'Italian Theory' fungere da strumento interpretativo di una ipotetica tradizione filosofica italiana? Questo l’assunto di uno studio recente, che colloca sullo stesso piano rispettivamente il pensiero di B. Spaventa, G. Gentile, E. Garin e R. Esposito – e che muove dal pensiero vivente di quest’ultimo per costruire una «genealogia» del pensiero italiano dall’Ottocento a oggi. Di questa operazione si discutono fonti e presupposti metodologici, sollevando alcuni interrogativi sulla loro legittimità scientifica.
