The paper considers as agent of the rapid end of last glaciation the close passage of a body, probably the one named Nibiru by Sumerians. The passage led to the end of the Atlantis civilization and to Earth capturing a satellite of the body passing by, which became our Moon. The event took place about 9500 BC, the body ended its existence in an impact over Jupiter, whose likely consequences are discussed.
