Dai diari magistrali di Carla e Alfredo Tornaghi: la pratica del metodo globale in prima elementare alla fine degli anni Sessanta

The pedagogical analysis of selected excerpts from the teaching diaries of Carla and Alfredo Tornaghi makes it possible to compare their respective experiences of adopting the global method in the late 1960s in a first-year primary school class in Carugate, a town in the Milan hinterland. Especially, it highlights their process of continuous professional development, in its strengths and difficulties, against the backdrop of a cultural period in Italian schooling that has yet to be investigated in depth, despite its richness in ideas for pedagogical problematisation and educational experimentation.
