The chapter examines the urban margins of Monza as spaces of both social fragmentation and potential regeneration, proposing a "green crown" (corona verde) strategy that reconnects surviving agricultural areas, ecological corridors and public space around the historic city. Building on a century of urban plans that envisaged a containment green belt (from 1925 onward), the study analyses the residual agricultural patches (former PLIS San Fruttuoso, Casignolo and Cascinazza) and outlines actions to strengthen cycling and pedestrian infrastructure, sustainable mobility linked to future M5 metro stops, and multifunctional green space. International case studies (the Østerå river renaturation in Aalborg by SLA Architects, MVRDV's The Weaves in Seoul, and rooftop/co-living design explorations) are discussed as replicable models. The chapter argues that Monza's green crown can become a social infrastructure before an ecological one, integrating landscape valorisation with new forms of urban community.

Abstract
The chapter argues that Monza's green crown can become a social infrastructure before an ecological one, integrating landscape valorisation with new forms of urban community.| File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
