Croce e Gentile tra antropologia e pedagogia

The paper considers the possibility to insert the thought of Croce and Gentile – pedagogically considered – within an anthropological frame. This insertion is made problematic both by the immanentistic character of their ‘philosophy of spirit’ and by the strong public engagement of both of them – making the theoretical profile of their thought hardly detachable from its political bending, even on the topics of science and education. The final section pinpoints some plausible line of research about the late phase of their thought.

L’articolo valuta la possibilità di inserire il pensiero di Croce e di Gentile – letto in chiave pedagogica – entro una prospettiva di carattere antropologico. Tale inserimento è reso problematico sia dal carattere immanentistico della loro filosofia dello spirito, sia dal forte coinvolgimento di entrambi nella vita pubblica, che fa sì che il profilo teoretico del loro pensiero risulti difficilmente disgiungibile da una sua curvatura politica, anche sui temi della scienza e dell’istruzione. Nella parte finale si individuano possibili linee di ricerca sulla fase tarda del loro pensiero.
