ICAP 2026. New directions in Applied Psychology, 31st international congress of Applied Psychology, 21 st – 25th July 2026, Firenze

Applied Psychology addresses current and relevant issues such as (but not limited to) work, the environment, health, education, society, and political participation, while paying close attention to both individual and collective concerns, all driven by the major challenge of global sustainability. The International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP), a long-established international scientific association, comprising 18 divisions, involves academics, experts, professionals, and students from across the globe to gather and share experiences, insights, and scientific contributions, aiming to tackle the challenges and future directions of psychological practice. The last few years have seen the UN 2030 agenda push forward Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), dealing with epistemological, methodological, ethical, and professional implications for the psychology profession and practice across its various fields. These issues were the focus of the 31st ICAP 2026 (International Congress of Applied Psychology), hosted in Florence from July 21 to 25 2026, promoted by IAAP together with AIP (Italian Association of Psychology) and the Universities of Bergamo, Milano Cattolica, Firenze. The contributions gathered in this volume reflect the richness and diversity of experiences showcased during the Congress, giving access to the abstracts of the researchers’ interventions representing over 90 countries, coming from all the continents. This broad spectrum of studies highlights promising directions that can inspire new trajectories and inquiry’s paths for contemporary applied psychology practice.
