The article focuses on Jacques Derrida's dialogue with Celan's poetry; starting from the philosopher's analysis of the "Meridian-Rde" in his last seminars, the article investgates the occurence of the verb "stehen" and the word "Gegenwart" in "Der Meridian" showing how these occurences reveal the poet's peculiar conception of poetry as a "land of human dignity and freedom".
