This paper analyzes some articles about teaching and education in the Enciclopedia Einaudi and discusses their ideological and epistemological approach, their methodology, and their unsatisfactory connection to the political and cultural events of Europe during the last 30 years of the 20th century. The authors use the results of this analysis to explain the present crisis of the Italian educational system.
