L’interventismo della cultura is the first volume of Luisa Mangoni, appeared in 1974. It was the result of a research started when she was a university student in Humanities, then continued during the training at the Istituto italiano per gli studi storici of Naples and finally into the Group of young scholars who gathered around Renzo De Felice in the late 1960s. Tracing the history of the intellectual groups and magazines of twentieth-century Italy, the book exceeded the traditional clivage between a fascist and an anti-fascist culture, proposing a new approach based on the theme of the Gramscian "Cultural Organization".
