The aim of my work is to show the influence exerted by Acient Roman Literature on the composition of Dostoevsky's novel The Devils. In particular, I make a comparison between two important historical-literary characters (Titus Petronius Arbiter from Tacitus' Annals and Lucius Sergius Catilina from Sallustius' Conspiracy of Catiline) and the main character of Dostoevsky's novel's Devils, Nikolay Stavrogin.

Abstract
The aim of my work is to show the influence exerted by Acient Roman Literature on the composition of Dostoevsky's novel The Devils. In particular, I make a comparison between two important historical-literary characters (Titus Petronius Arbiter from Tacitus' Annals and Lucius Sergius Catilina from Sallustius' Conspiracy of Catiline) and the main character of Dostoevsky's novel's Devils, Nikolay Stavrogin.File allegato/i alla scheda:
