We present a theoretical constitutive model for inelastic fluid-saturated porous media treated as mixtures with two phases. The material equations appear linear elastic in structure, but inelasticity, namely energy dissipation due to progressive diffused damage, is taken into account. and induces degradation of the apparent secant stiffness moduli of the two-phase mixture.
