The onset of strain localization in transversely isotropic elastic-plastic solids has been analyzed numerically and analytically in [1, 2, 3]. We provide here further numerical results on the localization characteristics for simple one-parameter deviations from elastic isotropy. We observe a key feature in agreement with the previous findings: anisotropy may delay or trigger substantially the shear band initiation and modify the corresponding bifurcation mode.
