The Austrian presidential elections of May 2016, annulled by the Constitutional Court that ordered a new runoff between the two most voted candidates in the first round of elections, represent an important opportunity to reflect not only on electoral dynamics, but also on aspects of costitutional law, such as in particular the form of government, as well as of comparative politics, regarding the party system.
