The article aims to illustrate the relationship between the academic and non-academic higher education system and the apprenticeships in Italy. Through a comparative analysis of some cases from the UK and US higher education systems, the paper will analyses conditions, opportunities, obstacles for the spread of the apprenticeships degrees aimed at promoting innovation and knowledge transfer between universities and the labor market in the Italian context.
