The paper focuses on code-switching occurring in the communication patterns of Russian mother tongue (L1) individuals speaking Italian (L2) at different levels. Given the increasing trend in language contact situations, including migration flow, this topic has been receiving an ever growing attention within Russistic research in a variety of perspectives. The present study illustrates code-switching typologies from a structural point of view, with reference to a multilingual corpus of electronic messages written by young Russian-speaking immigrants in Italy.

Abstract
