Abstract

The notion of “transmedia storytelling” is usually linked to the recent development of digital technologies and computer network. Technological enhancement is assumed to have led to an enlarged area of communication forms as a result of media convergence, a process which transformed modern culture into an interactive multimedia space. In the present paper, on the basis of Middle English Robin Hood narratives, it is argued that well-crafted narratives with compelling characters are not new and have traversed media platforms throughout the ages.
