This study draws upon organizational change literature to contribute to a better understanding of the transformation process in HEIs when adopting entrepreneurial behaviors. Researchers have discussed organizational change in the context of different disciplines such as in strategic management (Kuusela et al., 2017). The change literature deals with context, content, process and outcomes at both the organizational (Rafferty, Jimmieson and Armenakis, 2013) and individual levels (Oreg, Bartunek, Lee, and Do, 2018). The shift towards integrating innovation and economic development alongside teaching and research has necessitated a significant restructuring of the university's organizational structures and strategic initiatives. This presents an appropriate context for applying organizational change literature.
