Bikes for the city of Reggio Emilia are a good topic: 180.7 km of cycle-ways, modal split shows for bikes more than 20%. Not all is glad! In this paper I would like to present briefly for the sector of urban sustainable mobility the case history of Reggio Emilia. Excellence: Biciplan, a plan for cycle ways; institution of a bikes mobility point; service of Bikebus and PedestrianBus (Bicibus and Pedibus); bike-sharing; first help at home for broken bikes; a lot of solutions against bikes theft; bikes meter; at last, but not least bikes bookcase, a service of the city's library about bibliography advices on the topic. Weakness: most of the cycle ways are shared together with pedestrians, and that would be accepted only as a solution to assure continuity at the way, not as usual solution for pedestrian and cyclist mobility. Another problem is in the junction of secondary streets with primary street.
