The contribution considers the reasons for the influence exerted by Giovanni Gentile on multiple generations of disciples, by virtue of his philosophy, his concept of education, and his intellectual prestige, during the troubled transition from liberal institutions to the fascist regime and in light of the constraints imposed by the Lateran Pacts.

Il contributo considera le ragioni dell'influsso esercitato da Giovanni Gentile su più generazioni di allievi, in ragione della sua filosofia, del suo concetto dell'educazione, del suo prestigio intellettuale, nel travagliato passaggio dalle istituzioni liberali al regime fascista e alla luce dei vincoli imposti dai Patti lateranensi.
