Invecchiare con la disabilità intellettiva: vissuti individuali e cornici istituzionali nella transizione all’età anziana = Aging With Intellectual Disability: individual experiences and institutional frameworks in the transition to old age

This paper presents the initial findings from the exploratory phase of an ongoing study on the transition to old age among persons Aging With Intellectual Disabilities in the provinces of Bergamo and Lecco, Italy. Drawing on ethnographic interviews across 14 case studies, analyzed through the McKinsey 7S Framework from an ecosystemic perspective, the study shows that the quality of the transition depends not on isolated factors but on the system's capacity to functionally connect its four constituent levels: the person with intellectual disability, the frontline worker, the service coordinator, and the external stakeholder. The paper identifies where these perspectives converge (or diverge), arguing that the system's primary deficit lies not in a lack of resources or goodwill, but in the absence of functional connections between the levels that compose it

Il contributo presenta i primi esiti della fase esplorativa di una ricerca in corso sulla transizione all'età anziana delle persone con disabilità intellettiva nelle province di Bergamo e Lecco. Attraverso le interviste etnografiche su 14 casi di studio, analizzate secondo il McKinsey 7S Framework in prospettiva ecosistemica, lo studio mostra come la qualità della transizione dipenda non da singoli fattori isolati, ma dalla capacità del sistema di connettere funzionalmente i quattro livelli che lo compongono: la persona con disabilità, l'operatore, il coordinatore del servizio e l'interlocutore esterno. Il contributo identifica dove gli sguardi convergono (o divergono), argomentando che la principale fatica del sistema non risiede nella mancanza di risorse o di buone intenzioni, ma nell'assenza di connessioni funzionali tra i livelli che lo compongono.
