Ucrainismi in Il giovane Mazepa di Mychajlo Staryc'kyj

Ukrainianisms in "The young Mazepa" by Mychajlo Staryc’kyi The paper deals with the novel The young Mazepa (in Russian: Molodost’ Mazepy, in Ukrainian: Molodist’ Mazepy) by Mychajlo Staryc’kyj. Written in Russian and published in 1898 in the Moscow newspaper “Moskovskij listok”, the novel was banned by censorship. The text contains a significant amount of Ukrainian language elements and besides being interesting for comparative and postcolonial studies, it offers research perspectives from the point of view of frame semantics and linguistic contact. The aim of this survey is to extract Ukrainian lexemes from the multilingual text, rich of hybrid forms, and to create a glossary that may serve as a basis for further interdisciplinary research.
