Verso un’eco-ontologia: per una rilettura contemporanea dei Realms of Being

George Santayana's philosophy is undergoing a gradual rediscovery by scholars. However, one aspect of his thought remains underexplored: his ontology, which reveals a naturalistic approach that focuses on the idea of an entity that is always ecologically situated. This could be defined as an eco-ontology. This article addresses this lack of attention by providing a clear articulation of this position, showing how it can be reinterpreted and integrated into contemporary philosophical contexts, such as environmentalism, speculative realism, and object-oriented ontology. The goal is to contribute to a better understanding of Santayana's thought and to demonstrate its relevance and applicability in contemporary philosophy.
